Letter from the Secretary General
Dear Delegates,
It is an honour for me to welcome you all to the Şahinkaya MUN 2026 as your Secretary General. It is a great honour to be able to spend time with you in this prestigious conference as the Secretary General, maybe for the last time in my career. As in my 5th year MUN has always had a dear place in my heart. It was never just another activity I was joining for fun or the awards. It has gifted me with more knowledge on the world we live in, shaped my world perspective, and given me friends that I would not change for the world.
For this year, our exceptional academic teams have selected quite interesting matters that will force you to think from different perspectives, understand the importance of collaboration, and engage in interesting debates. Each of these agendas has been chosen to reflect one of the most important global situations that we face today, calling for innovative solutions and pressing the importance of these problems. I encourage each and every single one of you to get over all the challenges waiting for you, step out of your comfort zones to engage in these important debates with all your confidence and, most importantly, your respect.
As we assemble for this exceptional conference, never forget that diplomacy is not just about defending an idea but also about understanding other perspectives, looking at the world through another window, and developing sustainable solutions for a better future. I am excited to see all of your contributions to the success of this conference through your hard work, dedication, and passion. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing you bring your own excellence to the committees, and I am wishing for this conference to be an unforgettable experience for all of us.

Letter from the Director General
Dear Delegates,
I am delighted to be a part of this prestigious MUN conference as the Director General. This is most likely my last if not one of the last conferences, so I am glad to be ending everything I have done in all the MUNs I have attended in such a memorable way. I have made so many friends and experienced so many different adventures throughout these 3 years that I have attended MUNs.
This year, we wanted to go above and beyond and make this the best MUN Şahinkaya has ever experienced in the last decade. For that, we needed a great team. My dear Deputies, Head of Press Ada Özortakcı, Head of PR Azra İpek Yavaş and Head of Admin Tuğçe Bor, have worked so hard to make this conference possible. I could not have asked for a better executive team. My organization team has worked through sweat and tears and I am so proud of every single one of them. The Secretary General, Burak Şimşek, has been a great support and a great friend of mine through these hardships of preparations.
I would like to end this letter by reminding every single one of you to have fun, make friends and memories, and most importantly be yourselves. I hope this conference becomes a great memory and something to look back on with a smile for every single delegate that attends it.

Founded in 2012 by Şahinkaya students and English teachers, Şahinkaya MUN was the first Model UN conference to take place in Bursa and has since become the city’s most prestigious high school MUN.
